Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Days/Eves Rotate and Every Other Weekend

Employment Type

• Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Rotating shifts including Days, Evenings (1pm - 11:30pm), and Weekends
• 1-2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• 1-2 evening shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-call required: 1 holiday call, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per 4-week schedule
• Weekend shifts include on-call hours after shift end

Unit Description

• Operating Room in a Level III Trauma center
• Complex community setting
• 15 beds, census approximately 30-40 patients per day
• Patient population includes Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric patients
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
• Clinician to patient ratio: 1:1
• No floating required

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in one location
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a travel nurse in the specialty
• Basic aseptic technique
• Ability to circulate independently
• Multispecialty competence
• Experience with Mako and Da Vinci surgical systems
• Scrub experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (only AHA accepted)
• BSN and CNOR certification preferred but not required

Required Onboarding Credentials & Health Requirements

• Primary source verification of professional license and certifications within 30 days of start date
• N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required
• Medication exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
• Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months
• Social Security Number trace with criminal check
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days of start date, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start date, updated annually
• Education verification of highest degree achieved
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state details
• Candidate submission coversheet required for initial assignment

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years working in one location
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
