Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Rotating shifts

Licenses & Certifications Required at Start

  • Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
  • BLS (AHA preferred)
  • ACLS (AHA preferred)
  • PALS (AHA preferred)

Housing

  • Shared housing provided at no cost

Required Credentials & Compliance (Must be completed prior to or upon onboarding)

Professional Credentials

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience (with city & state)
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset)
  • Skills checklist
  • Criminal background check (within 45 days prior to start) including SSN trace and national sex offender check
  • Massachusetts CORI background check (within 30 days prior to start)
  • Education verification (highest level achieved)
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid)
  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form (upon acceptance and for extensions)

Training & Testing

  • FEMA ICS 100 Training (must be completed, no exceptions)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit Test for N95 respirator (within 365 days of start, updated annually)
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of fit test process)
  • Color vision test (within 365 days)
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season Sept 15 - April 30, no exemptions)
  • TB test (skin test or blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break)
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA (within 365 days, updated if >6 month break)
  • Optional but strongly preferred: Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity proof
  • Optional but preferred: Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
  • If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest x-ray required

Additional Notes

  • No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine
  • Fit testing cannot be done onsite initially; updates possible on-site if assignment extended
  • All background checks and credential verifications must be current and compliant with hospital system policies

This position is ideal for RNs with emergency room experience who meet Massachusetts licensing requirements and hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. The role offers a structured schedule with rotating shifts and includes provided shared housing.
