Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Summary

• Work under surgeon supervision to facilitate safe and effective invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
• Ensure operating room safety, proper equipment function, and patient safety throughout procedures.
• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, and sterile field maintenance.
• Perform initial and ongoing instrument, sharps, and sponge counts.
• Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time-out procedures.
• Handle specimens appropriately and assist with terminal cleaning of instruments and OR environment.
• Use standard precautions and personal protective equipment when handling hazardous substances.
• Demonstrate competency in OR procedures including emergency management, infection control, communication, and perioperative patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
