Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Required Credentials and Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- AHA only
- National or Board Certification
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC
- License/Certificate Verification
- Active professional license for the State of Louisiana (or Mississippi if applicable) with primary source verification within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration
Required Health and Safety Compliance
- Immunizations and Health Proofs:
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with required approvals
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years or declination with required approvals
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- TB Testing:
- Negative QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year OR 2-step skin test (1 within 30 days, 1 within 1 year)
- If positive, MD note confirming no active TB or proof of treatment required
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof or exemption accepted
- Fit Test:
- N95 mask fit test (3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870+) within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- Health Statement:
- Signed and dated within 1 year confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Annual TB Questionnaire:
- Required within 6 months of start; if positive, documentation of evaluation and treatment completion required
- Eye Exam & Color Vision:
- Ishihara Color Test and Snellen Vision test within 1 year prior to start
Required Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile (required for submission)
- Criminal Background Check:
- Completed within 30 days prior to start
- Includes SSN address trace, county criminal searches for all counties lived/worked in last 7 years, national criminal check, and various federal watchlists (NSO, OFAC, OIG, SAM)
- Education and employment verification for last 5 years
- Driving record if applicable
- HRIS Form (required for submission)
- Badge Photo:
- Forward facing, well-lit, neutral background, JPEG format
- Code of Conduct:
- Signed and dated annually
- Contract Annual Education:
- As required by the facility
Required Skills and Competency Testing
- FMOLHS Skills Checklist:
- Unit-specific to scope of practice, completed within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- FMOLHS Core Competencies:
- Must be current within 1 year prior to start with passing score of 80% or higher
- Includes HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives
- FMOLHS Competency Exam:
- Copies of exams needed within 1 year of start with passing score of 80% or higher
Drug Screening
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Includes testing for marijuana/THC, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, and methaqualone
- Positive marijuana/THC results reviewed on a case-by-case basis with additional documentation
