Job Description

• Must have 2+ years of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, including experience with fresh hearts.
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Schedule: 36/48 hours
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Must hold a Kentucky or compact RN license.
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• RN candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered.
• Driver’s license required for submission.

Required Qualifications

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid RN license for Kentucky or compact state license.
  • BLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate required if not electronic.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) – front and back of certificate required if not electronic.
  • NIH Certification (updated per NIH regulations).
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years CVICU experience.
  • Experience with fresh hearts is required.
• Other:

  • Must be able to work 1:2 patient ratios.
  • Must reside within 100 miles of the job location.

Required Health and Compliance Credentials

• COVID-19 Vaccine (with religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation).
• MMR vaccination or positive titer.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination.
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
• Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years; Td not accepted).
• Influenza vaccine (seasonal requirement, October-March).
• TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start.
• Annual physical or physician note stating clearance to work without restrictions.
• Drug screen completed within 30 days of start.
• Background check within 30 days prior to start, including criminal, employment, and education verifications.
• Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Skills checklist, competency exam, EKG/Telemetry exam, and core competencies specific to the scope of practice within one year prior to start.
• Two professional references required (one must be a charge nurse or higher, one must be a supervisor reference within the last year).
• Assignment confirmation form must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
