Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center
Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call required
Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- TNCC certification
- MOAB certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season, mask required
- TB Screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and annual questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred before start, can be completed onsite
- Drug Screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Onboarding and Documentation
- Professional Documentation:
- Resume/Profile required for submission
- Two professional references required prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after breaks in service
- Employment verification for past seven years; updated annually or after breaks in service
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated after breaks in service
- Signed assignment agreement required for onboarding
- Confirmation of assignment documentation required at start and with each extension
- Additional Onboarding Requirements:
- Completion of Ascension onboarding education attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Onsite nursing contract worker onboarding
- Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
Additional Notes
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
- On-site portion of CPI/MOAB High Risk training completed during orientation.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement for this position.
