Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Nursys Verification – Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
- Current Nursing License – Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Pharmacology Exam – Pass with minimum 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Specialty Exam – Pass with minimum 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Color Vision Test – Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA) – Completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80%.
- NIH Certification – Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F every 2 years.
- EKG Exam – Pass with minimum 80%, updated as required.
- Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation – Completed pre-hire.
- Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding – Completed onsite prior to assignment.
- Nova StatStrip Training – Completed pre-hire.
- Cerner Test-Out – Completed pre-hire.
- Badge Photo – Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR – Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test – Required annually; preferred prior to start.
- Hepatitis B – Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- TB Screening – Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Health Statement – Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA – Required within specified timeframes prior to start.
- Varicella – Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap – Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen – Completed within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Professional & Background Requirements
- Driver’s License/State ID – Valid, must match address requirements.
- Ascension Profile (Resume) – Required for submission.
- Professional References – At least two required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check – Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, and national sex offender check; updated annually.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check – Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Skills Checklist – Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually.
- Education Verification – Completed within 90 days of start; diplomas not accepted.
- Confirmation of Assignment – Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
- Employment Verification – Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually.

- Some checklists and evaluations may be required or requested during or after assignment.
This position requires thorough compliance with all credentialing, health, and professional requirements prior to and during the assignment.
