Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
Start Date: January 17


Job Description

  • Position in Emergency Department (ED) as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Must be able to float to other units as needed
  • Weekend availability required
  • Preference for candidates who can work full schedule through end of January and first week of February
  • Per diem position

Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN Emergency Room
  • Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum standard for ER RN roles (typically 1-2 years)

Compliance & Credential Requirements

Candidates must meet the following non-negotiable compliance items before starting and maintain full compliance within two weeks of start date:

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Active RN license verified through Nursys
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as required
  • Vaccinations & Health:
    • COVID-19 vaccine series plus booster or documented declination
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination record or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination record or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine or declination (required November 1 - March 31)
    • Negative TB test within one year of start date
    • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted)
    • Physical/Health statement completed within 60 days of start, stating clearance to work
  • Screenings & Background Checks:
    • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start
    • National criminal background check within one year of start date (with some state-specific timing exceptions)
  • Other Requirements:
    • Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80% score)
    • Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score)
    • Prime Skills Checklist
    • Prime Education Verification (diploma or transcripts)
    • Prime OIG exclusion check
    • Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion check
    • Prime Agency Attestation
    • Prime Orientation Packet (Essentials form and post-test)
    • Signed job description
    • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport
    • Fit test for respirator (optional but recommended)
    • Prime Color-blind test (annual)
    • Two professional references required (one from a manager or direct supervisor)
    • Updated resume reflecting recent work history

Additional Notes

  • Drug screen and background check should be provided shortly after the clinician’s shift begins
  • Must be able to comply with all facility-specific credentialing and health requirements
  • Floating to other units may be required
  • Night shift and weekend availability are mandatory

This position is suitable for experienced ER RNs who meet the above credentialing and compliance requirements and are available for a 6-month night shift assignment in Reno, Nevada.
