Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide care for all types of medical-surgical patients, including overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees.
• Patient ratios typically 4-5:1.
• Unit size: 24 beds.
• Care includes managing heparin drips.
• Telemetry tech unit monitoring is remote.
• Required to float across multiple campuses within the area.
• Scrubs color: Navy blue solids.
• Work schedule includes night shifts.
• Orientation date is firm.
• Department prefers candidates willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week contract.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of experience in Medical-Surgical or Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license valid at time of submission.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg / Med Surg Tele specialty.
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months are preferred.

Additional Information

• First-time travel nurses are accepted.
• Work history/resume must clearly demonstrate the required Med Surg experience.
• Must be available for quick interview scheduling.
