Registered Nurse - GI Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
- Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses.
- Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather work required.
- Must be able to work assigned weekends, take call, and work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.
Schedule
- Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- 40 hours per week
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of GI Lab nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
- Background check covering 7 years, including alias search, counties lived/worked/schooled, national and federal criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and international checks if applicable.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion screenings within 60 days of start.
- Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver Background Screening must be on file within 60 days; candidate cannot start with both pending.
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 60 days of start.
- Employment application/resume with minimum 7 years of employment history or from graduation if less than 7 years, with no gaps over 30 days.
- Two professional references within the last 2 years (not necessarily supervisors).
- Signed confidentiality and access agreements.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form acceptable).
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually. Positive TB requires chest x-ray and INH treatment documentation or facility-specific INH recommendation.
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series or positive titer; declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
- Valid mask fit test within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205 models).
Physical & Work Environment Demands
- Must be able to work full shifts at assigned location for the entire contract.
- Ability to work substantial portions of assigned shifts, including weekends, holidays, and take call.
- Must be able to ambulate and lift/move objects over 20 lbs.
Additional Notes
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
- Rotating shifts and holiday work are mandatory.
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific credentialing and onboarding requirements within specified timeframes.
