Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Schedule & Shift Details
- Monday to Friday, Day shift (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- 40 hours per week (5x8 hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Call requirement: 1-2 days per week
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Patient Population & Unit Information
- Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit type: Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Patient ratio: 5 rooms; 8 beds
- Unit systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis, PACS, SBAR
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final approval
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if past positive)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required by agency)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for Telemetry and related units)
- Color blind testing required; alternative assessment available if needed
Documentation & Verification
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
- Education verification of related degree required (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Two clinical references required
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
Additional Notes
- Scrub color provided by the facility
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
