Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM


Job Description

  • Provide radiation therapy services.
  • Must be willing to float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, but only to areas where qualified and competent.
  • Floating is a requirement for all contracted staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9 or attestation).
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID required ASAP for computer access and must be carried on duty.
  • Background check: 7-year history within 12 months of start, including state and county searches for all places lived/worked in last 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter.
  • Fingerprinting may be required if applicable (e.g., if lived/worked in certain states).
  • Education verification of highest level completed.
  • OFAC Sanctions List Search required for all new candidates.
  • Drug screening within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working/floating in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required (not required for remote workers)

Orientation & Training

  • Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment.
  • Pre-assignment testing (medication and arrhythmia tests) required within 72 hours of receiving login information; two attempts allowed.
  • Badge photo required prior to start.
  • Floating policy acknowledgment required annually.
  • Compliance checklists and contractor acknowledgments must be completed and signed.

Additional Notes

  • Facilities are latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable.
  • Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation.
  • Candidates must have stable internet and computer access for online modules and testing.
  • Candidates should not multitask or leave testing windows idle to avoid automatic failure.
  • Documentation must be verifiable with clinic name/address and patient identifiers.
  • Some certifications and trainings may have associated costs to the candidate.

This position requires a dedicated Radiation Therapist ready to work in a dynamic environment with floating responsibilities and strict compliance standards.
