Position Overview
Seeking an ARRT Licensed Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist Interventional Radiologists with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during procedures using fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound equipment. Common procedures include abdominal aortograms, fistulagrams, carotid angiograms, and EVARs. Must be proficient in operating fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment.
Shift:
- Day shift, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Weekday call up to 2 days per week
- Weekend call every 3rd weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology
- At least 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level I or Level II trauma patients
- Ability to operate fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment
Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT certification required (Interventional Radiology specialty not mandatory, but ARRT certification is)
- Ohio Radiologic State License required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS may be required depending on unit specifics
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, or TNCC not specified as required for this role
Experience
- 2 years of radiology experience preferred (minimum)
- Trauma experience (Level I or II) required if less than 2 years overall experience
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Additional Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the work location to be eligible
- Call responsibilities as noted above
- No more than 5 days of Return to Office (RTO) approved
- Must pass a 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening
- Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Required health documents including physical exam, TB test, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B), flu vaccination or exemption, respirator fit test, and others as applicable
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, color blindness test, and unit-specific competency exams required
- Fingerprinting required for onboarding
Work Environment
- 2 endovascular suites and open procedure ORs
- Surgical scrubs provided
- Labs run 2:1 RT:RN ratio
- Electronic charting using Epic/CareConnect EMR
- Equipment includes Philips Epiq 7G, Parks Flo-Lab 2100SX, PenVasc reporting software
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced ARRT Licensed Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience (or 1+ year with trauma experience). The role requires proficiency in assisting with vascular interventional procedures, operating imaging equipment, and working in a fast-paced surgical environment. Candidates must hold appropriate licensure and certifications and meet health and background screening requirements.
