Job Description
- Work in Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units.
- Shift: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), Monday through Friday.
- Schedule includes every other weekend and some holidays.
- Patient care areas include telemetry oncology, cardiac, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown.
- Ventilator and transplant patient experience required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications by American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start.
Work Schedule
- Evening/Night shifts, 12 hours.
- Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays.
Testing & Competency Requirements
- Telemetry pass/fail testing required before start.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Annual renewal and compliance with facility-specific telemetry exams.
- Remediation and retesting policies apply for telemetry exams.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and local searches.
- Education verification as applicable.
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines.
- Physical exam and immunization documentation required (see Health Documents below).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
- Immunizations or documented immunity for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination form)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of one adult Tdap required)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (if applicable)
- Drug testing per clinical standards.
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except religious/medical).
- Signed acknowledgments for safety manual and pass/fail testing.
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard).
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of acute care Intermediate Care (IMC) nursing experience within the last 3 years.
- At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last year.
- Ventilator (vent) experience.
- Transplant patient care experience.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Summary
This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Wisconsin requiring strong telemetry and critical care skills, including ventilator and transplant patient experience. Candidates must hold a valid Wisconsin or compact RN license, have current ACLS and BLS certifications, and pass a telemetry competency test. The role involves working evening/night shifts in intermediate care units with a 13-week contract length.
