Job Opportunity: Pathologists Assistant

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Pathologists Assistant with experience in surgical pathology. Scrubs are provided for this role.


Required Qualifications

  • ASCP certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathologists Assistant, with experience within the last year
  • Surgical Pathology experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (passport acceptable in lieu of driver’s license or state ID)
  • I9 or attestation
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year criminal history and sex offender search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Drug testing (10 panel) within 30 days of start (no rapid drug screens)
  • 2 professional references within 3 years of hire

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA or ARC accepted at start; must renew with AHA only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required for certain units; verify if applicable
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%, two attempts allowed)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (two attempts allowed; required for certain specialties)
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification, T-CAR) are unit-specific and may not apply to this role

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination form)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Information

  • Photo for badge required (passport style, clear background)
  • Scrubs provided
  • Must sign job description and facility-specific forms prior to start
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
