Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location: Utica, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a brand new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department (ED) facility.
High patient volume with patient ratios that may stretch to 1:5 or more during surge periods (no guaranteed 1:4 ratio).

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Requirements

Must complete and maintain:
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ER staff)
- Color Blind Testing
- Harassment Prevention Training (New York specific)
Physical exam within 1 year of start.
Fit mask test within 1 year and updated annually (N95 or equivalent).
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination
9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start.
Background checks including 7-year work/living history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions.
Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).
