Travel/Contract ICU Registered Nurse

Location: San Francisco, California
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: ICU
  • Shift: 4x8 hour shifts, AM shift (07:00 - 15:30)
  • Weekend rotation required
  • No on-call duties
  • Floating as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (expiration 1-2 years)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required onsite after start
  • Other certifications may be position-dependent (e.g., CCRN, TNCC)

Background & Screening Requirements

  • 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List as applicable
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
  • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
  • TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days or 2 PPDs as specified, renewed annually
  • Immunizations or titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30)
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Candidate must review and sign various facility policies and documents prior to start (e.g., Standards of Business Conduct, Code of Conduct, Vendor Training)
  • TB Questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start
  • Compliance with dress code and other facility-specific policies

  • Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
  • Attestations for unverifiable employment are limited and require approval
