Travel Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Rehab floor specializing in brain injuries, stroke patients, and trauma patients
• 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips

Schedule & Hours

• Facility open to 36 or 48 hours per week
• No straight 3x12 schedules offered
• Options: alternating 3x12s and 4x12s every other week, or straight 4x12s
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirement
• Float as needed
• Holiday requirement every other holiday except blackout dates (11/27, 12/24, 12/25)
• Facility needs coverage through Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22); minimize time-off requests during this period

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Rehabilitation experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience with Epic

Certifications & Licenses

• Preferred:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification

Additional Requirements

• Must complete medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, and core competency exams annually with a minimum score of 80%
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded depending on hire date)
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or titer proof
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Must comply with facility appearance policy and other facility-specific documents

Float & Holiday Policy

• Float as needed
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday except blackout dates

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience who is comfortable working in a rehab setting with brain injury, stroke, and trauma patients, and who can work flexible 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays (with some blackout dates).
