Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Start Date: 02/09/2026
Shift: Nights (20:00-08:30), 3x12 hour shifts (will accept 4x12)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty and lower acuity units as needed
On-Call: Pre-scheduled on-call shifts not required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele nursing specialty
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Maryland RN State License
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) – required for all acute care RN positions
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – required for specified units, must be updated annually
Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE) – refer to unit/job description for applicability.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
- Floating within MS/Tele specialty and sister units or lower acuity areas as needed
- Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Must comply with facility-specific policies and complete required training modules prior to start
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start including Latex Allergy Questionnaire and TB screening
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Fit test for respirator mask within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for pediatric units)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella – positive titer or vaccination proof required
- Hepatitis B – positive titer or declination accepted (series not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination no longer required for this location; exemptions accepted for tracking purposes only
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Color Blind Testing
- General competency exam
- Age-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (excluding certain roles)
All competency exams require a minimum score of 80% and must be current within 1 year of start.
Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules prior to start (unpaid)
- Submission of a passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of IT access forms, vehicle identification form, Pyxis access request form, and other facility-specific documentation as required
- Signing of job description, confidentiality agreement, dress code acknowledgment, and other facility policies prior to start
- Portfolio Epic training test-out form may be required depending on Epic experience
References & Employment History
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start required
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history required (attestation accepted if necessary)
