Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule:

• 4x12 or 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Includes weekdays and weekends (3 shifts per 4-week schedule)

Unit Information

• 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5-7
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner
• Work radius: 75 miles

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior travel experience: Not required
• Certifications required:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• Attendance: Facility allows only 2-3 call-offs per contract due to attendance concerns

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Candidate profile including work history
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Minimum 2 manager/charge nurse references within past 2 years
• RN license verification (recently pulled)
• All required certifications must be on file prior to start (no pending certificates allowed)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID)
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (updated annually)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination required
• Color blind testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency exams and core training modules (HIPAA, safety, etc.)
• Facility-specific documents including badge photo, background drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules
• Cerner EMR training modules must be completed prior to orientation
• ReadySet (RS) health assessment surveys must be completed by facility deadlines

• Scrubs are not provided
• The facility emphasizes strict attendance policies
• Extensions to the contract may be possible

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience, comfortable working night shifts, and able to comply with comprehensive credentialing and health requirements. Prior travel experience is not required.
