Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Facility Type: Short term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center
Shift: 4x10 hour days (07:00 - 19:30), every other weekend and holidays as needed
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Oncology specialty with chemotherapy certification required
- Must be able to float to other MedSurg units as needed
- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrubs color: Royal blue
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Connecticut
- Certifications:
- Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (unless working in Pediatric specialties or NICU)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended/required
- Other Required Training/Competencies:
- EPIC experience required
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 85%)
- Color Blind Testing (must score 80% or higher)
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification and transcript/diploma requirements (including foreign equivalency if applicable)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (3M N95 preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccination preferred
- Employment History:
- 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
- Work history verification required for all start dates on/after 8/2/2024
