Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Manage oxygen protocols
• Non-invasive airway management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Computerized documentation
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Rapid response team activation
• EPIC system experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license for Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (highest required years of experience)
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI may be required depending on unit (verify per unit)
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Fit mask test (annual)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (annual updates)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or IgG titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or IgG titer)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification matching specialty required
• 2 professional references required

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Driver’s license required if driving is a major job function
• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
• Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background)
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check required
• Various facility-specific exemption forms for flu and COVID vaccines available if applicable
