Job Requirements

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Tech)

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) required
• State license NOT required
• MRI Safety knowledge, including implant research and scanning guidelines
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP)

Background & Compliance Checks

• Background check within 1 year, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification or signed official transcript required
• Sex offender search within 30 days of start, updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, renewed annually
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination with boosters if needed
• Hepatitis B immunity or declination, updated annually
• Varicella immunity or vaccination with booster if needed
• Drug testing within 1 year, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required year-round (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• COVID vaccination or medical/religious exemption required (booster preferred but not required)

Competency & Skills Verification

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 1 year of start
• Color blind testing required within 1 year
• Unit-specific competency exams required annually
• RN Math Ability competency exam required annually
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for certain units (may apply depending on assignment)
• Skills checklists required annually

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references verified within 6 months of start
• Employment application with explanation for any gaps over 30 days
• Employment verification for past 7 years required
• Various facility-specific policies and agreements must be signed prior to start

Requirements/Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Experience with Siemens MR
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT certification (R and MR)
• Knowledge of MRI Safety, including how to research implants and adhere to scanning guidelines

Summary

This MRI Tech travel contract requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching hospital, with mandatory Siemens MRI experience. Candidates must hold ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) certifications and BLS. The position involves weekend shifts with possible floating within the hospital system. Extensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams are mandatory. Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible.
