Job Opportunity: SLP Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Setting: Outpatient (75% pediatrics, 25% adults)
Shift: 5 days a week, 8 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Start Date: 3/2 (Bi-weekly orientation)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • North Carolina state license
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - required for all units
    • CCC-SLP (ASHA certification)
    • EPIC experience required
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing)
    • MBImP (Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile)

Experience

  • Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Speech-Language Pathology)
  • Years of Experience Required: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience consistent with CCC-SLP credentialing (typically 1+ years post-certification)

Work Environment & Additional Details

  • No weekend or on-call shifts

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
    • Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval)
    • COVID vaccination proof if vaccinated (requirement can be waived if not vaccinated)
  • Skills checklist and work history verification required
  • Facility-specific orientation and safety training modules to be completed

Certifications Notes

  • BLS must be current and valid beyond 30 days from start date
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and other certifications required only as applicable to specific units (not required for this outpatient pediatric SLP role)
  • Proof of renewal or renewal plan acceptable as placeholder if certification is near expiration
