Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every other weekend required; 36 or 48 hours/week negotiable during interview
• Unit: Integrated Medicine, 24-bed med-surg unit focused on at-risk patients
• Unit features: Secured with video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti-barricade doors, badge-secured entrance
• Floating required
• Trauma 1 experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are welcome

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
• Prior travel experience not required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Not required for this unit
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CHEMO, EFM) – Not required for this position
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required only for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs, not applicable here

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days of start
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• State-specific Missouri background checks (MO FCSR or MO Caregiver search) required within 60 days of start
• Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
• Proof of I9 and E-Verify or attestation required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series or titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Resume with minimum 7 years employment history or from graduation with no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within the last 2 years
• State license primary source verification within 60 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, new hire packet, and employment eligibility certification within 60 days of start

• Floating between units is required
