Job Summary: Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Jefferson City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (does not accept first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
• Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit):

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for ER, Pediatrics, PICU
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for L&D, NICU, Postpartum, Nursery
  • CHEMO certification for Oncology (required starting 3/28/25)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER RNs (required starting 11/5/24)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D RNs
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs

Job Duties & Expectations

• Ability to work at assigned locations throughout the contract
• Ability to work the majority of assigned shifts, including weekends and call
• Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• Floating between units required
• 50% holiday coverage required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start (7-year history, including alias and international checks if applicable)
• Drug screening (7-panel negative within 60 days)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M models accepted)
• Immunizations and health screenings (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• State-specific background checks and registrations (Missouri FCSR and Caregiver Background Screening)
• Professional references: 2 required within last 2 years
• Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days

Licensure & Verification

• Valid Registered Nurse license with primary source verification within 60 days of start
• NURSYS verification required within 60 days
• Other certifications and licenses as applicable to specialty and unit

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required for new candidates
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
• Must comply with all facility-specific forms and agreements within 60 days of start
• Must be able to pass all competency exams as applicable to specialty/unit

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with floating, holiday coverage, and working in a dynamic hospital environment.
