  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Call: Weeknights 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Weekends Friday 4:00 PM - Monday 7:00 AM, Holidays 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
  • Call frequency: Approximately every 7th or 8th weekend and every 7th or 8th weeknight

Requirements

• Licensure: Massachusetts RN license required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Special Experience: Endoscopy experience required to submit application
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (if applicable)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA/AAP only (if applicable)
• Other certifications may be required or preferred depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, CHEMO, EFM, ENPC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check (within 30 days of start) with annual updates for direct candidates
• Education Verification (highest completed education)
• State License Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Medication and Telemetry Competency Exams (pass required with minimum 80%)
• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations and Declinations as applicable:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • TB testing and questionnaire (including chest x-ray if positive)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (IGG titer, vaccines, or declination)
  • Hepatitis B (3 dose series, reactive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (IGG titer, vaccines, history, or declination)
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or facility-specific declination
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start
• Employment Application: 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually as applicable

• Candidates must pass required medication and telemetry exams on the first day of orientation to avoid cancellation.
• Some certifications and competencies may be unit-specific; verify based on assignment.
• Declinations for certain vaccines are not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, and NICU units.
• Background checks and compliance attestations must be completed as per policy.
