Step Down Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Hazard, Kentucky
• 13-week contract
• Day shift
• 36 hours per week
• Local candidates only; must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Extension will not be approved

Schedule

• Float required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Stepdown (2 years of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Driver's License

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• Medical and religious flu exemptions may be considered case by case
• Driver’s license and facility coversheet must be included in the submission packet, and the address on both must match
• 2 references within 1 year of start date, with at least one from a supervisor or higher
• 7-year work history verification
• Background check and education verification
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Physical exam or physician statement within 1 year of start showing clear to work with no restrictions
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap documentation
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or documentation as specified in the source
• Skills checklist and employment application/resume with education and work history
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Core competency requirements and medication/pharmacology competency exam
• Kentucky vulnerable adult maltreatment registry verification

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• PAPRs cannot be accommodated due to facial hair
