Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Kansas City, Missouri
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Schedule and Assignment Details

• 8 weekend shifts required in each 6-week schedule period
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required
• Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including inpatient holding in the emergency department
• Block scheduling is not available
• No on-call requirement

Clinical Experience and Skills

• PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, MS/tele, ER holding, and neuro stepdown experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry monitoring, including remote monitoring
• Rapid response team use
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Post-cardiac, angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• IV insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC management, and starting IVs
• Heparin protocols, cardiac drips, PCA, procedural sedation administration
• CVA care
• Peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacements
• Surgical drains
• Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy management
• Isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac

Additional Notes

• Previous charge and teaching hospital experience is preferred
• Local candidates are not accepted
• RTO limit is 7 days
