Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

Join a fast-paced emergency room team at a Level I trauma center and Stroke Accredited facility serving a diverse patient population.

Shift Details

  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Works every third weekend (Friday and Saturday)
  • Call once every 6 weeks

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans including abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and brain perfusion
  • Operate CT equipment ensuring high-quality imaging
  • Support patient comfort and safety during procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience
  • BLS and ARRT certifications required
  • Advanced ARRT certification preferred
  • Experience with Siemens CT equipment and Epic charting system
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure

Compliance & Credentialing Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and MVR if driving is required
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification immediately after contract signing
  • Transcript or diploma verification (high school or higher)
  • BCI & FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio fingerprinting code (3701.881)
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (renewable at facility)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required for ER and related units
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for L&D, Post-Partum, OB units
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Facility-specific expiration rules
  • State License verification within 30 days of start
  • National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of start (if applicable)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement annually
  • NIH Stroke Certification for ER and critical care RNs (if applicable)

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs/LVNs)
  • Unit-specific competency exams
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start and annually thereafter (with remediation process if failed)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
  • TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declined
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required but strongly recommended

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment
  • Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment
  • Ethics and compliance policies review and annual acknowledgment
  • Proof of fingerprint completion (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
  • Background acknowledgment form for subcontractors
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, trauma and stroke-certified environment with a supportive team and diverse patient population. Candidates must be prepared for night shifts, rotating weekends, and on-call duties. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and background requirements is mandatory.
