Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48

Job Description

• Work on an Oncology MedSurg floor with every other week (EOW) schedule.
• Patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7; experience with higher ratios is required.
• Block scheduling is considered.
• Preferred schedule is 3x12 shifts, but 4x12 shifts will be considered.
• Minimal to no return to office (RTO) required.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: Cerner & Soarian.
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided).
• Oncology experience is highly preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg and Telemetry nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy required).
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted).
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted).
• TB questionnaire within 30 days of start.
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (9/3 through 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is granted.
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing.
• Facility-specific health and safety training modules must be completed prior to start.
• Photo for badge must be submitted within 24 hours of signing; must meet specific requirements (passport-style, no selfies, shoulders up, plain background).

References and Evaluations

• Two recent supervisor/manager level references required (charge RN references accepted but not preferred).
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency for over 1 year.
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations must be updated annually as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 30 miles of the facility will not be considered; local rate applies for candidates 31-50 miles away.
• Fingerprinting requirements apply only to CNAs; not required for RNs.
• Candidates must be willing to complete all required documentation and training in a timely manner to ensure clearance before start date.

This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg RNs with oncology exposure who are comfortable with night shifts and higher patient ratios, and who meet the outlined certification and compliance requirements.
