Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, Monday to Friday, 5x8 hours (9:00 PM - 4:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Description

• Position: Sterile Processing Tech
• Start Date: ASAP
• No on-call required
• Local residents within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background search if applicable
• Background checks must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly

Health and Safety

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Fit mask test required for travel candidates (valid within 1 year), updated annually
• Immunizations and tests required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
• Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) as applicable per clinical track (not required for this role)

Competencies

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams required as applicable by profession/specialty

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Respiratory safety clearance required for travel candidates, medically cleared annually
• WA State Patrol Search and other state-specific background checks as required by law for Washington placements

Notes

• No weekends required
• No on-call duties
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific and state-specific documentation and background check requirements
• Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may have some background checks waived if current at another facility
