Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER

Location: San Leandro, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Job Description

  • Backfill position in the Emergency Room (ER)
  • Schedule includes every other weekend and no on-call duties
  • Must be willing to float as necessary
  • Required to work 2 of 3 major upcoming holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications (AHA approved):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport) with clear, color photo
  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including:
    • SSN Trace
    • 7-year Nationwide, County, and National Criminal searches
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG sanction checks
  • Education verification of highest degree completed
  • NURSYS license verification within 15 days prior to start
  • Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
  • Fit mask test within 90 days prior to start (specific approved masks required)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or signed declination (TD not accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B positive titer or completed series or signed declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (masking required during flu season)
  • Drug screening via oral saliva test within 30 days prior to start (rapid tests not accepted)
  • Color blind exam within 90 days prior to start (Ishihara test accepted)
  • Employment history verification for the past 3 years
  • Current resume including last 7 years of employment
  • References per agency requirements

Additional Information

  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
  • Completion of facility-specific competencies and new employee orientation modules on the first day of work
  • Badge photo required (passport style, no filters)
  • No annual renewal required for most documents except where specified (e.g., TB test, flu vaccine)

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses licensed in California who meet the certification and health compliance requirements and are available for a 13-week travel contract on night shifts.
