Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care (CVPICU)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
- Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 7:00)
- Guaranteed hours: Yes
- Weekend shifts: 6 weekends in a 6-week schedule
- Rotating day/night shifts typically on a 6-week cadence, subject to unit needs
- Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- No block scheduling accommodation
- Locals accepted
- On-call required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrub color: Any color or T-shirt top, must be age-appropriate and kid-friendly
- Parking available with variable cost depending on shift and lot
Scheduling Notes
- Scheduling weeks run Monday through Sunday
- Night shift travelers may start night shift the day before orientation (RTO) begins
- Only pre-approved contract shifts guaranteed off
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Photo for badge required within 72 hours of contract signing; must be on a blue background with no hats or headwear
- Completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
- Math test required onsite upon arrival; remediation allowed if failed
- EKG test required prior to start; remediation process available if needed
- Meal waiver agreement required only if waiving second meal period (not mandatory)
- Annual background and health document renewals required for extensions or returning candidates if gap between contracts is less than 6 months
- COVID vaccine strongly recommended but not required
