Unit Overview

PCU-level patients on a Neuro/Stroke PCU floor
Patient population: adolescents to geriatrics
Continuous telemetry monitoring
Typical ratio: 1:4
36 beds with an average daily census of 30

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Clinical Expectations

Titrating cardiac drips
Respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical assignments
Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
Every other weekend
No block scheduling

Compliance and Start Requirements

Full compliance is required before start
Background check must be complete before start
Photo ID required
Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
Verification of most recent employer required
2 clinical references required
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
TB questionnaire required
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Flu vaccine or declination required

Additional Notes

First-time travelers are accepted
Local candidates are accepted
Maximum requested time off: 7 days
Spring Break blackout dates: April 4–12
Holidays may be required depending on assignment dates
No call required
