Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Medical Surgical (6 South)
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45–7:15)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Must float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
• Block schedule accommodation: Not available
• Local candidates accepted
• Pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: All RTO must be submitted with application

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• First-time travelers accepted
• License must be verified and renewed on time to avoid suspension or termination
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred but not required
• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
• Color blindness test (Ishihara) required
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming good health
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: 9-panel within 90 days of start (instant acceptable)
• Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 1); unvaccinated must wear a mask onsite
• Background checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • International background check if lived outside the U.S. in last 7 years
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment application and resume required

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (clear headshot, no visible nose piercing)
• Completion of facility-specific online orientation and acknowledgment prior to start
• Stroke education and acknowledgment required if working at facility for 1 year or longer
• Must comply with facility COVID-19 policies and flu exemption procedures
• All required documents must be submitted and verified before start date

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Floating to other Medical Surgical units is mandatory as needed.
• Weekend work is every other weekend.
• Pending license holders must obtain full license before starting.
