Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Oregon City, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Float between units as needed based on skill set
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No on-call or block schedules required
• Patient ratios: 1:5 during day shifts, 1:10 during night shifts
• Shift options: Night (3x12 hours, 7 PM - 7 AM) or Day (3x12 hours, 7 AM - 7 PM)
• Total hours per week: 36
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care
• Total staffed beds: 109
• Charting system: Epic
• Parking: No fee
• Scrub color: Any color allowed except OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child units where scrubs are provided
• Must have a vehicle for assignment
• Floating may include multiple nearby facilities within reasonable distance

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• Behavioral Health experience
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
• Immunizations and/or titers with documentation or declination forms:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel)

Background & Compliance

• Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Oregon Abuse/Neglect, Washington State Patrol)
• Education verification required for nursing degree
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Floating policy acknowledgement required

Additional Notes

• Floating to other units and facilities is common and may include multiple locations in the region
• If floating consecutive shifts to certain locations, hotel accommodations may be provided
• Facility will provide as much notice as possible for floating assignments
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS system
• Epic training modules required and must be completed within orientation timeframe

This position is ideal for experienced Pediatric Behavioral Health RNs with prior travel experience who are flexible with floating and weekend shifts.
