Job Details

• Shift Options:

  • Day shift, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Day shift, 4 shifts per week (12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Annual physical exam or physician note within 1 year prior to start, stating clearance to work without restrictions
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite; PAPRs not accommodated if facial hair present
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (Td not accepted) or declination within 1 year
• Negative TB test via QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year prior to start; annual requirement
• TB questionnaire and chest X-ray required if positive TB history
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
  • Varicella – 2 vaccinations or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B – series, titer, or declination within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug screening within 30 days prior to start, using a 9-panel test (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone; annual update required

Background & Verification

• 7-year work history verification through a third-party vendor; attestation letters accepted if verification attempts exhausted
• Two professional references within 1 year of start date required; one must be a supervisor or higher (Charge RN acceptable for one reference)
• Education verification included in background check or third-party verification
• Background check including:

  • Social Security verification
  • National criminal search
  • Sex offender registry
  • Fugitive database
  • Violent offenders database
  • County searches for all counties in last 7 years
  • Federal exclusion lists (EPLS/SAM, OIG, etc.)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days prior to start

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Signed and dated specialty job description, renewed annually
• Completion of employee health attestation and submission of required health documentation (TB results, OSHA respirator medical evaluation, flu vaccine/exemption) via designated portal prior to start
• Review of fit test policy and quick badge instructions
• Medical or religious exemption forms for flu vaccine and fit testing as applicable
• Annual skills checklist

This position is a 13-week travel contract for an ER Registered Nurse working primarily day shifts with comprehensive certification, health, and background requirements.
