MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Thursday: 12 PM – 12 AM
- Saturday & Sunday: 3 PM – 3 AM
Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Hours per Week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certification:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography (R)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- Experience with GE Healthcare MRI equipment
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background checks within 90 days of start, including:
- SSN Trace, County, Alias, Nationwide, Sex Offender, International (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification confirming graduation from an accredited program
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (latex allergy acceptable)
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with documentation for positive history)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: documented vaccines or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination documentation
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low/equivocal titers
- Seasonal flu vaccine required for 2025-26 season (no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
- Negative 10-panel drug test (including THC) within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Two professional references from employment within 12 months of start (at least one supervisor)
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required
- Completion of required online orientation modules prior to start
- Facility-specific documents and agreements must be signed prior to start
- Must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance for orientation and work access
Additional Information
- First-time travelers and local candidates are eligible
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- Competency exams and pass/fail testing (including EKG/medication knowledge) administered at orientation
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training provided onsite if not already held
- Candidate must complete competency checklists within 3 weeks after start date
- Candidate must upload certificates of completion for all required trainings and immunizations
This position offers a structured schedule with weekend shifts and requires strong technical skills on multiple MRI platforms, along with comprehensive compliance with health and safety standards.
