Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45–7:15)
Hours per Week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum 3 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Previous travel nursing experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
Job Details
- Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Night shift schedule with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
- No local candidates accepted
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with appropriate follow-up documentation for converters or BCG vaccinated individuals
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP, tricyclic antidepressants)
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption documentation
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption documentation
- Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start
- Completion of assigned Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing return demonstration if applicable
- Two professional references required

- Flu vaccination is not mandatory for employment but documentation or declination form should be maintained on file
- Some certifications and requirements may vary depending on specific cost center or unit assignment; candidates should verify applicable certifications prior to assignment start
