Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Position Details

Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Facility: Springfield Memorial Hospital, part of Hereford Regional Medical Center
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Days (0630-1900)

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 1 year required; first-timers accepted.
Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract.
On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed.
Licensure: Must have an active license to apply; pending licenses not accepted.
RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Local Candidates: Accepted with no radius restrictions.

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)

Cardiac Cath Lab Procedure Skills:
- Cardiac Implant Closure Device
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Left heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Right heart catheterization
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Scrub Procedures
Infection Control Skills:
- Isolation Precautions
- Sterile Technique
Age-Specific Competencies: Middle and Older Adult
Charting System: Cerner experience required

“Management” (yes in quotes bc there isn’t much directive provided) is incredibly cliquey, if you’re on the right side of things it’s great! If you are not, they will speak behind your back to other employees, as they want to be in on all of the supposed tea, without worrying about finding out the truth first.
