Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Pensacola, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Cath Lab with 4 procedure rooms and a holding area
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Staffing includes 10 RNs, 2 cardiovascular analysts, and 6 respiratory techs
- Equipment: GE imaging systems
- Documentation systems: Merge Hemodynamics, Meditech EMR
- Scheduling: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each; 6-8 call shifts per month; one weekend per month required
- Floating: Not required
Procedures Performed
- Left and Right Heart Catheterization (LHC, RHC)
- Coronary Intervention
- Pacemaker (PPM) insertion
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies with ablation
- Watchman device placement
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) closure
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Cath Lab Tech Certification
- Sedation experience
- Experience with atherectomy and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) procedures
Preferred Skills
- Experience in circulating in Cath Lab
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification is a plus
- Scrubbing and monitoring skills are welcome but not required
Additional Information
- Patient experience requirements as determined by the facility
- No floating required outside the unit
- 36 hours per week schedule
