Job Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Yes
Holiday Requirement: Yes, if staffing needed
Call or Standby: No call or standby required
Dress Code: Any professional colors

Department & Work Environment

Department: Laboratory – Histology
Orientation: Organization orientation on day one; lab-specific orientation on day two
No self-scheduling or block scheduling available
Equipment used includes Roche instruments
LIS and EMR system: Epic Beaker
Reports to a Technical Coordinator who reports to the Lab Director

Required Qualifications

Histology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
Recent histology technologist experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification

Additional Information

No specialization required in specific tissue types (e.g., muscle or kidney)
No requirement to cover other lab areas or perform phlebotomy
Must be within a 60-mile radius and have a valid driver’s license submitted
Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote
Hiring process includes profile review and interview with unit manager
