• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience (or related specialty experience depending on assignment)
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Job Details

• Department: Cath Lab Tech
• Procedure Suites: 7 total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average Cases per Day: 20+ across all rooms
• Common Procedures/Diagnoses: LHC, RHC, PCI, Structural, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, Laser
• Duties:

  • Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment
  • Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
  • Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon & stent deployment
  • Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
  • Clean, restock, and turnover rooms
  • Sheath removals

Staffing & Team

• Cath Lab daily staffing: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• EP team: 3-4 Techs (varies)
• IR team: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia support for neuro cases
• STEMI call team: 1 RN, 3 Techs

Schedule & Call

• Typical shifts: 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call
• Alternative schedule considered: 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Call rotation:

  • Weeknight call approx. once every 3 weekdays
  • Weekend call approx. once every 3 weekends (Friday through Monday)
  • Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Orientation & Training

• 2-3 full days of department-specific training/shadowing
• Buddy call during second week; no call first week
• On-call duties begin after orientation period

Additional Information

• Hybrid floating for vascular cases
• Scrubs provided; own scrub caps allowed
• Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before rehire
