Job Opportunity: Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse)

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7 PM - 7 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: February 24

Experience & Certifications

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience (higher value from notes)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - can be obtained during placement if not current
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - can be obtained during placement if not current
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit has 39 beds (24 Med Surg/Telemetry beds)
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6
• No acutely cardiac patients; mainly pacemakers, monitoring, potassium levels, etc.
• Telemetry experience beneficial but not required; basic telemetry a plus
• Charting system: Meditech (experience highly preferred)
• Medication system: McKesson
• Float Policy: May float to other Med Surg units within scope of practice
• Scrub color: Royal blue (not provided)
• Occasional call-offs possible (about 1 shift per 4 weeks, rarely used)

Additional Notes

• Housing is not provided; travelers should secure affordable housing prior to assignment
• Facility is near a destination location with entertainment options
