Respiratory Therapist - Washington, Tonasket

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days and Nights
• Hours: 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with rotating block schedule including rotating weekends
• Call Requirements: On call 24/7 with a 20-minute response time; includes holidays and weekends
• Work Setting: Sole Respiratory Therapist covering inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, pulmonary function tests (PFT) 2 days per week (3-4 patients), and potential long-term care needs
• Patient Population: Infants, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and some outpatient PFT patients

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all respiratory therapy duties including:

  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • 12 Lead EKGs
  • All respiratory therapies and device management
  • Intubate independently and manage all airways and ventilators
  • Stabilize and transport patients as needed
• Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) twice weekly
• Float between inpatient, outpatient, ER, and PFT areas as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
• Must have Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• No first-time travelers; prior travel experience preferred or required

Equipment Familiarity

• Ventilators: Bella Vista 1000, Trilogy 202
• Humidifiers: Fisher & Paykel
• Infant Warmer: Panda Model 1502
• PFT System: NDD Easy One Pro
• Oximeters: Various models

Additional Information

• General orientation includes 1 day with nursing staff and 1-2 days with respiratory department
• Dress code: Any color scrubs
• No hospitalist or intensivist on site
• Must disclose if previously worked at this facility

This position requires a highly skilled and independent Respiratory Therapist comfortable managing a broad patient population and multiple respiratory care areas as the sole RT on site.
