Pathology Assistant Position - Morgantown, West Virginia

Job Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (start time between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Work Locations: May work at one of three gross room locations: Main Ruby, Children's, or Innovation Corp (opening 7/27)
Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided
Weekend/Holiday/Call Requirements: No weekend, holiday, or on-call duties

Job Description

Work in Anatomic Pathology Gross Room
Ability to gross simple and complex tissue specimens
Use of equipment such as Epic Beaker AP, cryostat, bone saw, scalpels/knives
Training provided by current Pathology Assistants

Required Qualifications

Certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant by ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant
Preferred: Completion of a Pathologists’ Assistant program
Preferred: Experience in an academic medical center
Preferred: Experience with Epic Beaker AP and voice recognition software

Additional Information

No requirement to perform phlebotomy
Not required to be a generalist
