Inpatient acute floor

Unit Details

32 beds, all private rooms
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 patients per nurse

Schedule

3 12-hour shifts
Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Holiday and weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
Intermediate Care experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS

Floating

Travel RNs are first to float
May float to ICU if they have extensive ICU experience; otherwise to Gen Med floors
Assignment may include whatever level-of-care assignment is required

Clinical Scope

Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, Bipap, Cpap, trachs, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, and dialysis
