Day shift, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Vermont
• BLS
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a PTA in a home health care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist and within the patient plan of care
• Perform treatment prescribed by a physician after initial and periodic evaluation by a registered Physical Therapist
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical methods
• Assist with exercises, gait and functional training, activities of daily living, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
• Use therapeutic equipment as appropriate
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions and changes in condition to the registered Physical Therapist
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques and activities
• Arrange with the health agency for use of equipment available to patients
• Complete accurate clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner
