Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - IMC

Job Summary

  • Provide respiratory care to patients with gas exchange pathophysiological alterations.
  • Adhere to hospital-wide patient satisfaction and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to cardiac pulmonary emergencies and provide necessary respiratory care.
  • Verify physician’s orders and administer treatments including ventilator and noninvasive ventilation care, nebulizer treatments, peak flow, sputum inductions, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and incentive spirometry.
  • Maintain artificial airways and perform endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning.
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, adjusting settings as prescribed.
  • Transport intubated patients for diagnostic testing and transfers.
  • Collaborate with physicians to adjust respiratory therapy plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation and complete required paperwork.
  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory care.
  • Administer and monitor medical gases and humidifier systems.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
  • Follow infection control protocols and proper hand hygiene.
  • Provide bedside shift reports to ensure continuity of care.

Physical Demands

  • Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, bending, and some repetitive motions.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities without compromising patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong creative skills with the ability to improve existing programs and processes.
  • Must be proficient in performing Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs).

Shift

  • Monday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (one day per week)
